A Year in Review: Best Tips and Practices

Home > Blog > A Year in Review: Best Tips and Practices

It’s crazy how quickly a year goes by. What’s even more outrageous is how much can change in those 12 short months.

Looking back, Content Bloom has made some major strides. We’ve expanded globally with two brand new offices in our India and Canada headquarters and grown our internal teams.

If that’s not enough, we’ve experimented with a variety of tools and apps to test ways to improve our time management, communications, and administration. We’ve attended conferences where we had the opportunity to:

  • Travel overseas
  • Present demos/panels
  • Speak to rooms full of avid industry folk
  • Share best practices
  • Network
  • Grow and nurture new and lasting relationships

If we had to describe 2019 in one word it would be busy. We did a lot to challenge ourselves and encourage internal and external growth through experimentation and implementation.

As we leap into the roaring 20s, we’ve decided to reflect on some of our favorite moments, tips, and blog posts from 2019.

Sharing is Caring

Instead of just talking about our favorite tips, tools, apps, blogs, or software amongst ourselves, we decided to get way more vocal and began sharing these insights. This meant cheering on businesses via social media channels, creating dialogs at events, and sharing highlights on our own platforms.

If a company delivers a solid quality solution, product, or service the world needs to know! As a result, we made some great connections within the RWS and Sitecore communities and created some much-welcomed buzz-worthiness around services like BambooHR, Trello, Zoom, and Slack.

Tips, Lessons, and More

We realized that the Content Bloom team is exceptional when it comes to managing work-life balance, remote work, and offering up useful advice for the workplace. Yet again, we’d been keeping all of these great insights to ourselves, never realizing that others within the tech industry might benefit from our experience. The solution? A blog series dedicated to the team’s favorite, most useful tricks, and hacks.

Let’s be honest, the majority of “tips” on the internet are repetitive, redundant, and not very useful. We decided to compile a list of insights from everyone in our office because each one of us is coming from a different level professionally and our skills are diverse. So why not create a list that reflects working in the tech industry on all levels?

We said yes to a lot of things this year and really took on the adventurer role. You can find a look at our best conference moments here.

What we learned:

  • Traveling for work can be fun
  • Networking is a fancy word for making new friends
  • Saying yes to invitations is a great way to develop personally and professionally
  • Participating opens you up to new opportunities
  • The tech community is full of smart, fun, friendly, and open-minded individuals
